Holiday Gifts

The holidays are always a fun but hectic season. Doing some shopping, making last minute gifts - I like that last part the best.

This year I made these candy jars for my friends. Here's an empty one to show the details better.

I've finally learned how to use my Silhouette to cut vinyl. Here are the jars with candy in them. Who doesn't love candy, right?

I finished them by putting each one in a plastic bag and attaching my homemade Christmas tags.

They are so easy to make! I had so much fun that me and my girls decided to make some for my friends' dogs as well. They are Jake and Snowball.

We filled them with dog treats.

Now I have another idea for next year's craft fair. Have a wonderful happy new year, everyone!!!

More Craft Fair Projects

I finished three craft fairs this season and I must say it was a lot of fun! I enjoyed talking to the customers and sharing my projects with them. I'm almost out of inventory, so this is a good excuse for me to start creating again. Well, after I clean out my craft room. It looks like a tornado went through there!

Anyway, here are some projects that are new this year.

I am OBSESSED with making tags this season, ever since I got this tag die from Papertrey Ink.

Of course, I have to make these post-it note holders...notice the middle one with the rubber duckie? It reminds me of one of my favorite songs sung by Ernie from Sesame Street!

More post-it note holders...I love using stickers and stamps with quotes.

This is a project I saw online...cute and easy to make.

Looking forward to making more fun projects in the new year!!!

I'm still here...really!

Maintaining a blog, I realize, is pretty challenging especially when there are a thousand and one other things going on. I have been working on different projects ever since the summer but for some reason I haven't uploaded them. Now that craft fair season is here again, I have been trying my best to get stuff ready. Here are some projects that I will be selling this year...

Post-it note holders are always a big seller.

I have these tissue holders...I enjoy using different fabrics for this project.

Notebooks with inspirational quotes made especially for teachers.

I'll be back  with some other projects that I am working on... Have a good week ahead everyone!!!

Another Name Card

One of my daughter's best friends celebrated her birthday and I decided to make her a name card. Paige, my daughter's friend, is very passionate about ballet so I used that theme for her card.

Here's the front of the card:

When you open it up, it shows her whole name.

As usual, I used my trusty Cricut for the letters, cardstock and stickers from Joann's and Hobby Lobby.

I'm still here...

I know it's been a while - there has been so much going on. I survived another school year, packed to move to a new school building, had my daughter's 8th grade graduation, and celebrated her graduation with a party at our home. Whew!!! June was CRAZY! I am glad we were able to go on a much needed vacation after everything. Now I am settled at home and after cleaning the house and doing piles of laundry I am ready to do some crafting.

As usual, I was asked to make cards for the staff members leaving our school. These are the ones I came up with.

I was finally able to use my Silhouette to make this adorable card. I purchased the file from the Silhouette Online Store.

Here's another one that I made. It's one of my favorite projects.

This post has information on how to make these purses.

I will post other projects that I am working on. I am also getting ready for some craft fairs this coming fall. Later!!!

Cake Slice Money Holder

A friend had a birthday recently and I made her this little cake slice to put her gift in. Her name obviously starts with a "G". It's so fun decorating these cake slices. I love playing with colors and textures. The lace detail was a last minute decision - I think it works better that plain ribbon. Looks like delicious icing!

A New Toy...

I have been wanting to get a new die-cutting machine for the longest time. My Cricut is the very FIRST one that came out in the market years ago, so I know it's time to upgrade. The thing is I wasn't quite sure which one to get - another Cricut or the Silhouette. After months of reading reviews about both machines, I decided on the Silhouette. And when I saw the bundle that they were offering at HSN, I knew it was time to get one. HSN offers awesome bundles with extras, plus I like the flex pay, which means I don't have to pay for the whole thing all at once.

Now I have to learn how to use it. Hopefully I can create some awesome projects soon...

Life Happens....

It's been a while since I've updated my blog, mainly because I have things to deal with and make decisions about in my life - home, family, career. Nothing serious, just things that need my attention. In the process I lost my crafting mojo. I would go in my craft room and try to start projects, but I end up staring at my desk and nothing gets done. I am hoping that it would change really soon. I have so many materials sitting in my room, so many ideas in my head, but I can't focus on them right now. The one very good thing about all this, however, is that I am developing a closer relationship with God, which is the most important thing. I know it is His way of telling me that I need to seek Him first and make Him a priority in my life, and everything else will follow and be alright.

I hope to be back with some awesome projects really soon!

Valentine's Day Crafts

This year I didn't procrastinate and was able to make Valentine gits for my daughters' teachers early. Here are some of the projects that I made.

Isn't that little monkey adorable? I got him from Hobby Lobby, together with the paper and ribbon.

Here's another version...

I used paper with the same monkey design and my Martha Stewart heart punch. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember where I got the template for this Hershey box. I'll try to find it and post it here.

This time, I used Hershey nuggets. Can you tell that I love this little guy???

Love this idea from Martha Stewart.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

More Cards

This weekend I made four different occasion cards. The first two are pretty simple - I used a Cuttlebug folder for the background, a stamp, and the Martha Stewart punch for the border in the bottom.

Here's another version...

Then I CASE'd (is that the right term?) these two cards from the Papertrey Ink Gallery. I've had the Blooming Button Bits Stamp for a while now and I have been wanting to use it.

I used buttons for this one...

...and a purple flower for this one.

Have a wonderful rest of the week, everyone!

Birthday Cards

I was able to finish two birthday cards this weekend. I used the same card sketch but different papers. Love mixing and matching different colors and patterns.

Used paper from Michael's, cardstock, bling and a couple of Cuttlebug dies. I also did some stitching. It's something that I would like to do more this year.

Have a great week everyone!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year, everyone! Here's to a wonderful and blessed new year for all of us. I am excited to do new crafting projects this year and share them here in my blog.

I have been off for two weeks from school so I had a bit of time for crafting. I would like to share some of the things that I've been working on.

I'm still doing 3x3 cards, but I'm using designs that I've not done before. There seems to be a craze about owls lately, so I decided to use these owl stickers from Michael's for my cards.

Here's a closer look at one of them.

The stamps I used are from The Pink Stamper. They just go perfect with the owl stickers.

Here's an acrylic post-it note holder that I did. The soccer ball stamp is from Papertrey Ink.

I noticed that sports-themed items are popular during craft fairs, so I will make more of those.

Here's a simple and easy, yet elegant card.

This card is made from glitter paper, the Daisy Punch from Martha Stewart, and some bling. This card measures 3.5x3.5 to get the four flowers.

Another thing I am OBSESSED with right now is crocheting. I've done some crocheting a long time ago (thanks to my mom who taught me how to do it) but now, thanks to Youtube, I am relearning the skills that I need to make different things. I finished an infinity scarf for my daughter, then yesterday, I finished this.

It was fast and easy to finish, and it's the cutest thing ever! I am going to add a flower to the other beanies that I will make. I want to make matching scarves as well to make a set. My younger daughter has friends who love American Girl dolls so this would be a perfect gift for them.

Okay, gotta go get some more yarn. They're on sale at Michael's and Joann's this week. Have a good rest of the week, everyone!
